Firstly, let me apolgise to any PlayStation 3 using-readers who are wondering where on their Wireless Sixaxis Controller the Yellow Button is (and where the good games are :p ). You can just read “TRIANGLE” in place of “yellow button” - or go and buy an Xbox 360 - which ever is easier for you.

EA Skate features a revolutionary control system - Flick-it, combined with motion captured rag-doll physics, a realistic world complete with stupid pedestrians, security guards and cars.

It does NOT, however - have a use for the yellow button!

Whilst the blue and green buttons on the controller (square and X on PS3) allow the rider to push their skateboard along and the red button (circle on PS3) allows you to scrape your foot or pull a coffin move, the yellow button (or triangle on PS3) does not do anything.

I would like to see one of the following be included as an option for the yellow button.

1. Add Session Marker.
Although the game does provide an easy way to add session markers, the yellow button might be an easier way to add a “start” marker.

2. Add location
Adds a “favorite” location to the map to allow you to travel back there.

3. Special tricks
I know special tricks are a bit “hawk” these days - but maybe a darkslide or wallplant/boneless might be nice.

4. Stall
Press the yellow button on coping and ledges to do stalls, nosepicks and handplants.

5. Get off the board
Walk, run, jog, get to those places you find hard to skate to. Again, this is a little “Hawk” but a necessary evil.

Things I don’t want to see added to the yellow button are.

1. Punching/throwing/fighting
2. Spray graffiti/tag
3. Climbing
4. Flatland tricks (they are so 90’s)
5. Agro kick/boosting

I was hoping that EA might add some functionality to this button by the way of a system update - but in the light of the news that there will be no downloadable content for Skate, this seems unlikely.
